Fine art print of Hearth. The original piece was made using inks that I made from weld leaves, alder bark, fire soot, copper and some well travelled turmeric.
Both weld and alder would have grown on the island for thousands of years, and would have been species used and known by the humans which settled here. Heading into the bronze age, the iron mines of Cork and Kerry were being exported to such a rate that Ireland was known as the largest exporter in Europe, hence the copper oxide ink.
All prints are made in Cork, by Imagine Fine Art using Epson Ultrachrome HDX Pigment inks (vegan friendly) on Hahnemuhle photo rag 308g paper (also vegan friendly). Both are certified to the highest museum standard.
